This project was based off the Design Innovation In Plastic's Competition Brief "Healthy Body, Healthy World" and was completed within 5 days, a typical working week.
13.3% of 16 – 19 year olds and 15.8% of 20 – 24 year olds have suffered from anxiety. School learning, stress tolerance, confidence, motivation, personal relationships will be adversely affected.
Work-related stress, depression or anxiety continues to represent a significant ill health condition in the workforce of Great Britain. Work-related stress, depression or anxiety accounts for 44% of work-related ill health and 57% of working days lost, in 2017/18.
1 in 4 people aged over 65 live with depression and 40% of people aged 85 or over live with debilitating depression that affects their ability to engage in daily activities.
Scientific studies have shown that fragrances induce positive mood results in measurable health effects.
Scent affects mood, concentration, memory recall and emotion. Research shows that there is a 40% improvement in mood after being exposed to pleasant scents.
75% of all emotions generated every day are due to smell.
Concept, Development and Finalised Form Sketchwork
3 in 1 Aroma Dispenser System
User can choose what specific scent they want according to their mood from a choice of 3 different aromas. For example Vanilla to ease anxiety.
Portability design, allows user to carry the scent in a syringe/pen like form. This means the user can have an aroma induced experience on the move without bringing the diffuser.

Additional Button - when pushed activates the chosen scent (from the Main Dial) instantly.
Main Dial - allows the user to differ from the 3 scents available to them - scent is dispensed automatically every hour.
Light Button - to help lower levels of stress, the product is provided with an LED light which is controlled with this button. The user is able to select from 3 different LED light colours.
Micro USB - product is rechargeable and comes with a USB charging cable for an efficient and fast charge.
Ventilation - product allows for air to pass through in order to keep electrical systems cool.
3 Scents - the user will have 3 scents to choose from in order to uplift their mood and be at ease. The capsules can be swapped out for different or refilled scents. Alternatively, the user can take a capsules with them as they can use it on the move.
The capsules have a trigger mechanism to activate the scent when the user wishes to use it.
Alternative Colour Options - user can micro customise the colours of the product which comes in yellow, blue, red, purple and green. This will give the user a unique and personal device.
